Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to recent claims by the presidency that 756 people were killed in 2-years under his adminitration. In his response, Reno said Jonathan dealt with the fulani herdsmen decisively. Former President Jonathan wishes to express his condolences to the government and people of Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa and Nasarawa states, over the recent spate of killings occasioned by herdsmen/farmers clashes. His heart bleeds for the sufferings of Nigerians and he calls on the authorities to do everything in their power to put an end to these needless killings. More than 10 Nigerian men were today arrested for illegally residing in Indonesia. The police acting on a tipoff, stormed the homes where the Nigerian men were staying and arrested them.

Oyawerikumor Peregbabofa,  also known as  Karowei , the suspected militant leader who was declared wanted and accused of killing British Missionary Ian Squire, has surrendered himself to the Joint Task Force Operation Delta Safe.   JTF Commander  Rear Admiral Suleiman Apochi  confirmed that the suspect surrendered under a superior firepower during a JTF operation. Though the commander did not give details of where the suspect was apprehended, he disclosed that the operation is still ongoing to ensure that all perpetrators are brought to book.   Peregbabofa and others allegedly abducted four British missionaries David and Shirley Donovan, Ian Squire, and Alanna Carson, on October 13, 2017, at Enekorogha community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. Three of those abducted regained their freedom afterwards, but Squire lost his life in the kidnappers’ den. How the mighty has fallen... The Rivers State Government on Tuesday demolished the mansion of notorious kidnapper/militant leader, Don Wanny, who was killed over the weekend.  

It was a day of mourning and weeping in Benue state today as 75 indigenes in the state who were killed in the Fulani herdsmen massacre that took place on New Year day and January 6th respectively, were laid to rest. A requim mass held at the IBB square in Makurdi and was attended by the state governor, Samuel Ortom, his wife and other government officials as well as other residents of the state. Thereafter the remains of the deceased were taken to a site where they were all buried. Among those that were buried were four-year-old Terkaa and Mrs Sarah who was killed with her eight months pregnancy. May their souls rest in peace, Amen. See more photos below
