Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex president Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to recent claims by the presidency that 756 people were killed in 2-years under his adminitration. In his response, Reno said Jonathan dealt with the fulani herdsmen decisively. Former President Jonathan wishes to express his condolences to the government and people of Benue, Kaduna, Taraba, Adamawa and Nasarawa states, over the recent spate of killings occasioned by herdsmen/farmers clashes. His heart bleeds for the sufferings of Nigerians and he calls on the authorities to do everything in their power to put an end to these needless killings. Having said that, let it be known that we find the statement by the Presidency stating that 756 Nigerians were killed by Fulani herdsmen in two years under the government of former President Jonathan as a mischievous assertion by a callous Presidential spokesman who thinks that death is something to be trivialized. More than 10 Nigerian men were today arrested for illegally residing in Indonesia. The police acting on a tipoff, stormed the homes where the Nigerian men were staying and arrested them.

How the mighty has fallen... The Rivers State Government on Tuesday demolished the mansion of notorious kidnapper/militant leader, Don Wanny, who was killed over the weekend.  

It was a day of mourning and weeping in Benue state today as 75 indigenes in the state who were killed in the Fulani herdsmen massacre that took place on New Year day and January 6th respectively, were laid to rest. A requim mass held at the IBB square in Makurdi and was attended by the state governor, Samuel Ortom, his wife and other government officials as well as other residents of the state. Thereafter the remains of the deceased were taken to a site where they were all buried. The  Nigeria Police , Lagos State Command, arrested two notorious Kidnappers at Elemoro, Ajah in Lagos yesterday January 10th at about 9.43pm. The criminals met their waterloo while escaping with their victim, one  Mrs Mildred Mbajiorgu . The tight security network emplaced in Lagos state by the Command Commissioner of Police, CP.  Edgal Imohimi , did the magic as the Divisional Police Officer, Elemoro tapped into it to get the suspects arrested. According to the DPO, SP Mohammed Shehu  Limawa, he received a distress call from a lady who told him that she heard the voice of a woman crying for help in a dark blue Gulf 3 car. She also gave the registration number of the car as KRD 845 EC. The DPO quickly alerted one of the Anti crime patrol teams along the route taken by the Kidnappers and instructed the policemen to slow down traffic to about 20km per hour.
